| Maghreb health ministers hold emergency swine flu meeting |

05 May 2009 Source : Magharebia.com Health ministers from Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia gathered Monday (April 4th) in Tripoli for an emergency meeting to discuss swine flu preparedness, MAP reported. Arab Maghreb Union chief Habib Ben Yahia stressed the need for member countries to co-ordinate efforts in order to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus.
In related news, Morocco will allocate 850m dirhams for swine flu prevention measures such as anti-viral medicine and facemasks, MAP quoted the communication ministry as saying Monday. "[V]igilance at all frontier posts of the kingdom was reinforced to avert the introduction of the virus to our country," the statement added.
