Forthcoming launch of Arab Customs Cooperation Council

The Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) director generals of customs met on April 27, 2010 in Rabat, Morocco .

The aim is to set up an action plan aiming at coordinating the union’s customs policies. In this context, they will discuss the project consisting of creating an Arab Customs Cooperation Council and common Magrebi customs standards.

They will look at ways of strengthening cooperation in the fight against fraud and tax evasion.

In addition, director generals will discuss the union’s positions regarding the works of various Arab Customs Union committees as well as the proposals of the World Customs Organization in Brussels.
