Maghreb health ministers hold emergency swine flu meeting 05 May 2009 Health ministers from Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia gathered Monday (April 4th) in Tripoli for an emergency meeting to discuss swine flu preparedness, MAP reported. Arab Maghreb Union chief Habib Ben Yahia stressed the need for member countries to co-ordinate efforts in order to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus.

Maghreb countries have vision to overcome inter-Arab rifts, FM 29 March 2009 Doha - Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri, said, here Sunday, that Maghreb countries (Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia) share a firm vision to overcome inter-Arab disagreements that arose during the recent Israeli aggression against Gaza. "Maghreb states have a firm vision and hope to contribute to overcoming certain disagreements and difficulties that arose in the aftermath of the aggression against Gaza," Fassi Fihri told the press.
