AMU energy ministers rekindle regional co-operation efforts 07 July 2008 After 13 years of stagnancy, energy ministers from Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) member states met in Algiers on July 3rd to revitalise co-operation in the region. The ministers concluded the meeting with agreements to work jointly to produce renewable energy.
AMU: Need to create competitive energy market 04 July 2008 The 8th session of the Maghreb Council of Energy and Mines Ministers wrapped up Thursday afternoon in Algiers by the adoption of a joint release calling to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy and mines. The final release of Algiers meeting stressed the need to create an open and competitive Maghreb market and promote cooperation in renewable energies by preserving energy, using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and exchange oil products between the Union’s countries.
